GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS:

The flanged electric heating resistors are manufactured for various industrial applications for liquid substances heating.

Furthermore, this heaters typology optimally grants high performance and efficiency in keeping fluids high volumes at constant temperature (water, industrial oils such as fuel oil or thermal oil, gas and air).

The heating elements forming the tube bundle can take up various shapes and folds in order to be easily installed also at the bottom of tanks or basins, both in horizontal and vertical position, for the direct or indirect heating of fluids intended for countless uses in the main industrial sectors.

The first quality materials use within our production cycle allows the flanged immersion electric resistors manufactured by us, to reach high operating temperatures and a medium-long term useful operative life.

 

USE

Designed to be introduced in pipes, basins or tanks under pressure, directly immersed into contact with the fluid, this heaters typology grants an excellent heat exchange, despite its extremely compact dimensions.

In order to grant the design of an efficient flanged electric heater for immersion, the following technical parameters must be established:

Installation place/ environment

Maximum overall dimensions of the tank/basin receiving the heater

Fluid type to be heated (in details, its physical, chemical and thermodynamic characteristics)

Operating temperature

Among the most common applications, it can be found:

Hot water heating inside large cylindrical tanks and/or boilers for industrial use and for hot water radiators heating in thermal-electric power stations in the building sector, both for civil and commercial use (with open or closed circuit)

Heating of industrial process fluids, air, gas, inside tanks.

Fluids storage tanks at controlled temperatures, containing petrochemical, chemical and pharmaceutical substances

Metals, textile washing machines and systems

Industrial boilers and food thermal treatment ovens, thermal power plants for water steam production.or, for electric energy production, plastic materials production, shipbuilding industry and aerospace industry

Water treatment and waste substances separation systems

The entire production cycle of industrial electric resistors on flanged fitting is subject to the strictest dimensional checks and electric tests in compliance with the standards set forth by our own ISO 9001:2008 certified Corporate Quality System, and in full compliance with the CEI/EN requirements In force.

TECHNICAL DATA

This heaters typology consists of a tube bundle made of various heating electric elements of different diameter, generally folded in U or eyelet shape, perpendicular to the electric contacts outlet or folded at 90 degrees. Each element is TIG-welded or braze welded silver alloy on DIN, ANSI unified flanges, or on flanged fittings of non-unified shape, of variable dimension, according to the operating pressure and temperature.

The electric connections section is located inside housings oF carbon steel or stainless steel  IP55/IP56 standard heads, or inside specific explosion-proof heads, suitable for use in explosive environment. Equipped with efficient thermoregulation devices (control thermostats with adjustable temperature scale, with automatic or manual reset or alternatively, surface safety thermostats with intervention cut-out, thermistors PT100 and/or thermocouples “J” or “K”), suitable for protecting the heater from overheating and possible premature damages. Inside the electric connections head, according to the customer specific needs, the electric power inlets are also properly dimensioned (NPT or GAS) according to the number of elements installed, power and amperage determining the cables’ section.

This type of electric resistors surface load (W/cm2) is specifically decided from time to time, according to the use conditions and type of fluid to be heated; in addition to these factors, the maximum operating temperature and operating environment are also variables directly influencing the choice of the sheath material, for the tube bundle of these heaters manufacturing (Carbon steel, Stainless steel AISI304, AISI309, AISI 321, AISI 316L, Incoloy800-825, Inconel 600 or Titanium).
